What is the Financial Dating Success
Program About and What Will I Learn?

Financial success begins with learning how to create a winning team with your partner—so you can work with each other instead of against each other. With this program you’ll discover how your current beliefs impact your current money choices and behaviors—armed with this information, you’ll learn how to let go of scarcity thinking and get motivated to take action to turn your financial life around.

You’ll get financially honest as you calculate the exact amount of your debt and determine exactly what you spend money on each month. This knowledge will motivate you to change your money behaviors, get rid of debt and start saving for your big dreams and goals. Finally, you’ll learn how to live richly by spending less and living more as you align your time and money with your deepest values and intentions.

The Financial Dating Success Program includes the following eight steps:

  1. Get on the same page.  Financial conflicts are rarely just about money. They are often about control, power and fear. The most common dynamic is that one person is in charge (the money manager) of taking care of the daily finances—paying the bills, tracking and balancing the checking/savings accounts and making most if not all of the financial decisions that affect the family.

The money manager often resents their partner who (they feel) isn’t “as responsible” as they are. Ironically, the money manager doesn’t entirely trust themselves to make the best money decisions either. However, they have a difficult time giving up control and sharing the financial responsibilities.

The other person in the partnership is more carefree and would prefer not to be bothered with the financial details—yet a part of them would like to understand finances better. What they really desire is to be more trusted by their partner.

They get frustrated when their partner complains about their lack of responsibility and tries to control their every purchase. They long to be more appreciated and respected.

You’ll get clear about the money dynamics that are affecting your relationship and then learn how to get on the same page and work as a winning team with your partner. As a result, you’ll develop lasting confidence in how both you and your partner handle money individually and as a couple
  2. Master your mindset. You’ll do specific exercises that will help you identify your limiting money beliefs, develop specific strategies for overcoming these beliefs, create a more prosperous mindset and take effective financial action.
  3. Get organized. Lack of financial organization can keep you from making greater financial progress throughout your life. How can you possibly hope to pay down your debt if your office is in disarray and you can’t even locate your bills, or if your “bill pile” gets continually moved every time you have company?

You’ll learn how to: clean up your financial messes, create an efficient filing system for your financial documents, create a system for paying bills on time (so you’re never caught off guard again), automate bill payments, balance your checking accounts and keep your financial records neat and legible.
  4. Get financially honest. We can’t get where we want to go unless we know exactly where we are right now. Many couples think they have an understanding of their financial situation–but in reality, they don’t. They’re afraid to look at what their current financial status is.

Through this program you’ll discover your net worth as your write down the exact amount of all your debts and the exact value of the things you own. You’ll look closely at your spending habits and determine what expenses do and don’t bring you true joy and satisfaction.
  5. Make your money behave. We have to learn how to make our money behave, which ultimately means learning how to make ourselves behave. You can have the world’s best financial plan and if you’re not willing to change your behavior you will never succeed.

You’ll learn how to create a spending plan (not a budget!) that gives you the freedom and flexibility to enjoy your money while still paying off debt and saving for your big dreams and goals. You’ll learn how to willingly adopt more positive, wealth-building money behaviors.
  6. Get rid of debt. You’ll create a plan for getting rid of debt once and for all. You’ll choose a method for paying off debt that works for you, and brainstorm ways to pay off debt as fast as possible. You’ll create a credit card payment chart—which is the best-kept secret to getting rid of debt fast.

You’ll feel motivated and excited as you easily track your progress. You’ll know the exact date, month and year when you’ll have your debt paid off. This will help you feel a sense of relief as you realize that it’s actually possible to get rid of your debt completely and soon—instead of feeling like it’s an unachievable dream or something that could take you the rest of your life.
  7. Automate savings. You’ll learn how to automatically put money aside for your dreams and goals, like emergency savings, retirement, vacations and/or your first home.
  8. Live Richly & Give Richly. As you pay down your debt, you’ll learn how to spend less while living more. You’ll identify your values and the purpose and vision for your life so that you can spend your time and money participating in activities that bring you deep satisfaction, instead of spending money on accumulating more “stuff.”

Experiences often cost next to nothing—yet they can result in a deep feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction. Experiences fill our soul without draining our pocketbook. Give your time and money towards making the world a better place. Start giving back to your community, friends and family and discover the door to creating more abundance and deep satisfaction in your life.
